Tourism and Leisure in Alsace

Whole Alsace, and particularly the area of Riquewihr, abound in tourist places, known and less known but very appreciated by visitors.

In addition to the omnipresent Alsatian vineyard in this part of France, the fortified castles are legion there, and which most known is without question the castle of Haut-Koenigsbourg, known in the whole world, which is about fifteen kilometers from Riquewihr.

Colmar, prefecture of Haut-Rhin, 15 km from Riquewihr, is a small quiet city where it is good to stroll around the streets. The Old City counts many picturesque lanes strewn with typical houses, like the famous Maison Pfister. The Unterlinden Museum and the Petite Venise are recommended visits during a stay in Alsace.

Hunawihr, very close to Riquewihr (3 km), with its Octagonal Church dating from the 15th century, and its Center of reintroduction of the Otters and the Storks, attracts each year a lot of visitors coming from all around the world.

While pushing until Ribeauvillé (to 4 km of Riquewihr), one will be able to visit the 3 fortified castles at the time of a hike, as well as the famous Tower of the Butchers. The inveterate players will be fulfilled with the Casino Barrier of Ribeauvillé. And the children will not be outdone with Labyrinthus (in summer) a giant labyrinth of more than 4 ha.

For the amateurs of Golf, Ammerschwihr and its round of golf with 18 holes (8km from Riquewihr) is a meeting place that cannot be ignored.
